While teaching at Art Center College of Design, I gave an assignment to do a "creative" typographic interpretation of a record album, including the cover and all songs. The content was to come from either the title or the lyrics, and the readability of the type was to be secondary to the creative solution, as long as it was "readable" at some point. The viewer was to become involved with the piece, and feel a sense of satisfaction when they deduced the title and meaning. It sounded like fun, so I decided to do the assignment with them.
